I know I'm a masochist for owning a VW but I really do love my 08 Rabbit/Golf and the price I got it for about a year ago made it worth it.

The problem I have is really quite minor but annoying nonetheless. It doesn't like to turn right.

Everything mechanically is fine, but there seems to be some electrical issue in the indicator stock. It only happens intermittently and never when I turn left, but I have to either tap the indicator up just right to get the right three-blink or forcibly hold up the stock for the entire length of the turn to get the get the consistent right blink. Anything else and it turns on the left indicator.

The left works perfectly for the brief and the consistent blink. Any ideas?

I'm fairly mechanically inept and VW electronics scare me. Putting in a new head unit was about my comfort level.

dirty contact on the stalk is likely, get some contact cleaner and spray it in between the column and the stalk.

The Jetta I got has an intermittent issue that the relay clicks randomly. it hasn't happened in over a year, so I guess its fine now.

Probably needs replaced or cleaned, and that involves removing wheel with airbag.

Maybe I don't know.

Thanks I'll try this first. The price of VW parts and labor scares me, but it is honestly so annoying and I feel like an asshole anytime I'm on the highway and change lanes with the wrong blinker going.

Removing anything related to the airbag I hear requires a dealer reset after it is reattached and I'd like to avoid that if possible. Might not be true but I heard that on a head unit tutorial where they remove part of the dash but are careful not to remove the airbag light wiring.

Being on a college budget anything dealer related is scary. Thanks for the info though

if that doesn't work, a new stalk and labor shouldn't be too expensive.
